FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAMS
MISSION AND VALUE STATEMENTS

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Division of Food and Nutrition is to promote access to healthy food choices among the Commonwealth's children to ensure readiness to learn, wellness, and sponsor compliance with federal Child Nutrition Program standards.

We accomplish this by:

  • Providing Nutrition education and training opportunities for Child Nutrition Program sponsors
  • Conducting compliance reviews with consistent accountability and technical assistance
  • Developing and distributing age appropriate nutrition curriculums that are in compliance with academic standards
  • Exceeding customer expectations in all program areas through continuous quality customer service and fiscal accountability

VALUE STATEMENT
