Transitioning Early Learners
Transition is a period of adjustment. When parents, teachers, and school personnel work together the process of transitioning operates more smoothly reducing the amount of stress experienced by the the child.
At the Pennsylvania Early Childhood Conference presenters from the University of Virginia Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning provided valuable insight into strategies to enhance the transition process for children and families.

The Office of Child Development and Early Learning is pleased to announce the availability of the Parent Activity Resource Guide, “Kindergarten Here I Come”!
“Kindergarten, Here I Come!” has been reprinted and is now available, free of charge, to kindergarten and pre-kindergarten practitioners for distribution to families with young children.
These Activity Books are free and contain months of simple at-home activities for adults and preschoolers to do together during the year before Kindergarten.
Designed in calendar-format, the activity guide provides months of parenting information and at-home experiences that are linked to Pennsylvania’s Early Learning Standards and support children’s school readiness.
