Teaching and Learning
Division of Curriculum
The Bureau of Teaching and Learning coordinates a variety of state and federal programs and initiatives as well as providing support for the alignment of the Pennsylvania State Standards to Pennsylvania schools’ voluntary curriculum. Reflective of the Secretary of Education’s Vision, our goal is to support and enhance quality learning for all Pennsylvania students.
The Office of Child Development and Early Learning strives to build a strong foundation for children, starting in infancy, through the establishment of a state-wide standard for excellence in early care and education and the creation of financial and technical supports to actualize that goal. The success of the state’s efforts today will be seen in the development of citizens of the Commonwealth who are strong, independent, and well-prepared for the future.
Teacher of Year
The National Teacher of the Year program began in 1952 and continues as the oldest, most prestigious national honors program that focuses public attention on excellence in teaching.
