Veterans/Military Education (GI Bill Benefits)
The Division of Veterans/Military Education is the State Approving Agency for Pennsylvania. In order for a veteran, reservist or dependent to use their GI Bill Benefits the program must be approved by the State Approving Agency. What is New?
Effective August 1, 2009 a new GI Bill is available. If you served active duty after 9/11/2001, you may be eligible for this great new benefit. The Post 9/11 GI Bill Brochure (PDF) has general information and the GI Bill Website includes a section on frequently asked questions as well as the latest available information.
What can GI Bill benefits be used for?
Basic Eligibility
This information can be used as a guide. However, an application must be submitted to VA on VA Form 22-1990 for a formal eligibility determination. If you have drawn VA education assistance before, the application form will be VA Form 22-1995. Applications and additional information are available on the GI Bill website; gibill.va.gov

We as the Pennsylvania State Approving Agency approve programs so that veterans and dependents can use their GI Bill Benefits. Some of the forms required for approval are below. Please note that we will need to visit your educational institution or training establishment prior to approval.
For educational institutions not already approved, there is a check list of required items and an application.
For educaional institutions that are already approved and requesting a new program approval, there is a check list of required items. If applying for approval of distance education courses there is a separate application.
For an employer applying for approval, the required Training Agreement is below.
