Teachers:
1. If you choose to submit (absolutely electronically) an example (or 3 examples of student work for the same standards aligned lesson – demonstrating proficiency, exceeding proficiency and one that does not meet proficiency) of student work done recently in your world language classrooms, please open the URL and proceed with the task requested in the Student Exemplar Template.
2. You also must use the ACTFL National Standards and/or the PA Proposed Academic Standards that you can download from the top of this left NAV (in order to cut and paste) into your lesson summary & student exemplar template.
-
The Proposed Standards, though currently not adopted, can be used in classrooms because these Proposed Academic World Language Standards will always remain in PA’s Chapter 4 under another Section and will have the title of PDE Guidelines for World Languages .
3. You also must simultaneously have each individual student and a parent or guardian sign the release. (These releases can be scanned in order to submit electronically.)
4. Please e-mail attachments and send the Student Exemplar Template along with the scanned Student Exemplar Release Form to:

The SAS World Language Writing Team and Co-Chairs, Dr. June K. Phillips and Pam Kolega, would like you to submit these as soon as possible.
-
The cut off day for submissions will be March 30 2010. You will be notified after that date whether your exemplar was chosen.
-
Participants of previous World Language Governor’s Institutes (2001-2008) may use these lessons, whether their lessons have been posted on the Institute site or not.
-
Many other world language teachers who never have attended a Governor’s Institute are definitely welcome to submit student exemplars also!
